How to Register
Kindergarten Registration
Children may begin kindergarten in September of the calendar year
in which they turn five years old.
Registration for English and French Immersion kindergarten for the 2010/11 school year will be held during the week of February 15 to 19. Students can register later, however students must be registered by February 28 in order to be guaranteed a space in their neighbourhood school.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Board of Education has decided not to offer a full-day kindergarten program for the 2010/11 school year, with the exception of the existing Aboriginal kindergarten program.
Want to Register Your Child in Early French Immersion?
Parents wanting to enroll their child in French Immersion Kindergarten should contact their nearest French Immersion school. There will also be a public information meeting on Wednesday, February 10 at 7 p.m. at the School Board Office, located at 425 Pinecrest Rd.
Is Your Child of Aboriginal Ancestry?
Children of Aboriginal ancestry in School District 72 are invited to attend afternoon Kindergarten in addition to the regular Kindergarten program. Your child will enroll in a regular morning Kindergarten program at your neighbourhood school and then, should you choose, attend the Aboriginal Kindergarten program in the afternoon. Aboriginal Kindergarten is a four afternoon a week program, which focuses on literacy and numeracy skills and included First Nations language, stories, songs, and art. For more information on Aboriginal Kindergarten, please be sure to inform the school of your ancestry when registering for the regular Kindergarten program.

in a school other than their neighbourhood school must complete a cross

stay at that school until the student advances to their next schooling
