Most Tuesdays the Cedar Culture group meets to drum, dance, socialize and have a meal together. The sessions run from 4-7 PM and are hosted by MaryAnn and often Jacob and Shelley. Qwaya Sam, Floyd Jackson and Tommy George are the lead drummers of the group and Ursula Lucas is vital to making things happen. We thank them for their great contributions.
Jammies, popcorn and fun took over Cedar school on Groundhog Day, February 2nd. Students also had older students visit their classes to do a hibernation activity with them.
The 3/4 Class of Mrs. Nichvalodoff created a 100 reasons they love Cedar.
Our Recogniton Assembly on March 2nd included a big thanks you to the Altrusa Club's Muffin Ladies. Our grade 4/5 leaders helped by Mrs. Kuschel and Mr. Cassidy, baked muffins and made aprons for the ladies and prepared a short slideshow of happy muffin eaters. our Muffin Ladies names are Chris Perras, Lynn Norton, Barb Berube, Chris Button, Jo-Ann Windsor, Sharon Bollefer, Janet Baker, Barb McLeod and Sheila Dickson.
Many of the staff both old and new gathered to paddle the big canoe provide by the We Wai Kum band and ably piloted by James Quatell.
Local author Sophia Hansen shared her picture book The Crow and Raven with primary classes on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 2nd and 3rd.
Cedar's Choir under the direction of Jo-Anne Preston took part in the district's Music Showcase on Thursday, March 8, 2017. Our kid's group was small but mighty and sounded great.
Cedar's Artist in Residence, Qwaya Sam and Mary-Anne Barr start to hand out the drums for one of their weekly practices.
