Power Speak is an oral language development program that strengthens a child's receptive and expressive vocabulary with attention to his or her style and presentation of oral language. In essence, it is the missing link between language development and reading and writing.
Developed by School District 72 speech and language pathologist, Pauline Falck, Power Speak teaches and refreshes students' basic, and new, vocabulary and concepts. It teaches an awareness of body language, etiquette, and the social structures involved in speaking.
Available for purchase, Power Speak contains lesson plans for twenty 45-minute sessions, photographs, sequence pictures, session schedule cards, detailed instructions, game ideas, and a sound theoretical backing.
Building confidence and empowering students, who have previously been self-conscious, to participate fully in the classroom experience is what Power Speak promises!
