Attendance is recorded each morning and after lunch for school records. Parents/Guardians will be notified if their child has been marked absent. This only occurs when the school has not been informed of the absence ahead of time.
When a student is absent due to sickness or hospitalization, parents should arrange to maintain their child's studies by contacting the school.
Regular attendance is important. The process of education requires a continuity of instruction, classroom participation, learning experiences, and study.
Teachers may be able to provide some work for students who are absent for a short term, provided sufficient preparation time is available. For students absent due to a long term illness, an educational program may be provided by a hospital homebound teacher.
Students who are absent for holidays, sporting events, scout camps, etc. should not expect their teachers to prepare packages of work.
