The British Columbia Teacher-Librarians' Association (BCTLA) would like to invite everyone to join students, teachers and volunteers from across the province to celebrate the importance of literacy, school libraries, and the joy of reading, and "drop everything and read"!
October 28 marks the seventh annual province-wide Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) Challenge. The challenge is to drop everything and read for 20 minutes on this date, and ideally every day!
With over 65,000 students, teachers, parents and school volunteers participating last year, DEAR has become a regular celebration of literacy, reading and school libraries in BC.
Schools in SD72 will be participating in the challenge with planned activities. To learn more about DEAR, visit www.dropeverythingandreadbc.ca or contact your local school librarian.
