World Teachers' Day: A Message from the Board Chair

October 03, 2013

Campbell River School District is pleased to recognize World Teachers' Day on October 5, 2013.

World Teachers' Day is an annual event, established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to celebrate teachers worldwide. Its aim is to build peace in the minds of human beings through education and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers.

Every day teachers make a difference, not only in the classroom, but in the world outside their doors. To all teachers of School District 72 who create welcoming learning environments for our students, we appreciate your contributions.

On behalf of the Campbell River Board of Education, I encourage you to take a moment in the week leading up to October 5 to thank a teacher who has made a difference in your life, or the life of your children. Please visit www.5oct.org to learn more about World Teachers' Day and to send an e-card to a teacher in your life.

Sincerely,

Campbell River Board of Education
Michele Babchuk, Board Chair
