Friday Hot Lunch Program

Our hot lunch program is run by parent volunteers who devote their time to make it a success.  We are always looking for new volunteers that can pop in to lend a helping hand.  We are grateful for any time you have to offer; if interested, please contact the PAC directly via email:  pacoceangrove@gmail.com

If you wish your child to participate in this program, annual online registration is required using the Hot Lunch link below.  There are no paper copies for ordering; all orders must be placed online.  There is no obligation to participate in this program - you may select as little or as much you would like.

Every year the hot lunch program is reset and wiped clean of account information.  This means that ALL FAMILIES (new and returning) must register their children each year before they can place their orders.

ALLERGEN WARNING: Please be advised if you have allergy concerns, we ask that you contact the restaurant for any questions or concerns. The restaurants do their best to ensure there isn't cross contamination when preparing food.

HOT LUNCH ORDERING!

Our second session of hot lunches (covering January to March) will be open for ordering on Friday, December 13th, 2024, at 9am ORDERING DEADLINE is 8:00pm on Friday, December 20, 2024.

We are excited to have hot lunch available almost every week! This means we are counting on our wonderful parent volunteers, thank you to all those wonderful parents who helped during the first session! Please message us if you can volunteer. This term will include Boston Pizza, White Spot, Subway, Pita Pit, and Booster Juice. 

LATE ORDERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED, no exceptions due to deadlines from our vendors.  We prefer payments be made via etransfer to pacoceangrove@gmail.com. Please ensure you include a memo with student name and teacher's name.  Cash and cheque payments will be accepted, please ensure student name and teacher's name are written on envelope and dropped off in the school office.

If Your Child is Absent on Hot Lunch Day

If your child is away on a hot lunch day, lunches will NOT be saved to hand out another day and refunds will not be provided. 

You have the option to phone the school before 10:30 am on the hot lunch day to request that your child's lunch be delivered to the office so that you may pick it up that afternoon.  If not picked up by 2:30 pm it will be discarded.  If you have not requested pick-up of your child's lunch it will be provided to another student in the school to enjoy that day.


HOW TO REGISTER & ORDER:

1.  Use this link:  HOT LUNCHES

2.  Click on the heading Schools

3.  Scroll down until you start to see BC schools - click on Ocean Grove Elementary

4.  This will take you to the log-in page - click on the Register button at the top.  You must first Register your students even if you had an account the previous year.   account. You only need to register once each school year, so if you registered for Term 1 and wish to now order for Term 2 you do not need to re-register but may proceed directly to ordering.

5.  Follow the prompts - school code is OGHL

6.  Enter a user ID for access to the Hot Lunch website, and password you will remember, then enter again to verify.

7.  Once registered you will be logged into the website.

8.  Using the Students button add your student AND select their teacher's name in the drop down menu.  Both student and teacher names are required.  Click on Insert and your student will show up on the screen with chosen information.

9.  More than one child?  Click on add new at the bottom and repeat process above.

10. Once you see all of your students listed on the screen, click on Orders at the top and start the ordering process.

* Once you have Ordered you cannot go back in to make changes, so please make sure you have scrolled all the way through to see all dates and lunch suppliers available before completing your orders.  You do not have to order from each hot lunch day, you can select as much or little as your student prefers.  There is no obligation to participate in this program.


PAYMENT:

Paypal / credit card is the most convenient.  If you cannot use a credit card online then the next best options are e-transfer or cheque (see instructions below).

** CASH IS NOT ACCEPTED FOR HOT LUNCHES **

When you have completed your menu selections you will be prompted to click on Payment Type:

  •      If using a credit card please click on Paypal then follow the prompts.
  •      If using e-transfer or cheque please click on Print Remittance Form
  •      E-transfers must be emailed to pacoceangrove@gmail.com (not the school).  It will be an auto deposit, so no need for passwords.
  •      All cheques are to be payable to Ocean Grove PAC (not the school), placed in an enveloped marked "PAC:  Hot Lunch for ________", and dropped off at the school office.  If you are paying by cheque, please send an email confirming same to:  pacoceangrove@sd72.bc.ca .

If payment is not received by the specified deadline the online orders will not be processed.

Once your payments have been made the student's status on the hot lunch website will show as verified.  You can also log back in anytime to see your orders for upcoming hot lunch dates.  You will receive an email reminder on the Monday of any hot lunch week confirming your order for that week's hot lunch day.  Hot lunch dates are also published on our website calendar.
