TeenFlight Campbell River is hosting a Mandala rock painting workshop on Saturday, June 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as a fundraiser to support TeenFlight Campbell River. $49 per person, all supplies included. RiverCity Inclusion and the Ministry of Children and Family Development are inviting adults with FASD, family and friends of those with FASD to a presentation from Myles Himmelreich, a world renowned FASD expert, consultant, and motivational speaker on Friday, May 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tidemark Theatre. Learn about FASD and the challenges associated with sensory integration, attention, language, cognition, memory, and stigma, while discovering strategies that can make a real difference for people who need support. Play Campbell River is starting Bike Bus, an organized group of children riding bikes to school together along a set route led by trained parent volunteers and high school and middle school leadership students from Lilelana Park to Carihi in April and May.  Walk & Wheel Wednesday

The National Ballet of Canada invites classes to join the YOU dance Livestream on Thursday, May 15 at 12 p.m. EST. This free virtual learning opportunity is open to all elementary and middle school grades but is specifically designed for grades 4 to 6 students. The hour-long performance features the National Ballet’s RBC Apprentices dancing a diverse repertoire, engaging discussions led by our hosts and opportunities for the entire class to get moving. Advance registration is required, and curriculum-based resources will be available prior to the livestream performance. A recording of the event will also be available from May 15 to 29.
