Welcome Phoenix Firebirds!

I hope you have all enjoyed a fun filled summer. The school staff looks forward to supporting students as they settle back into learning routines; it is going to be a fantastic year of learning! Here is some important start up information:  

Grade 6’s ONLY  - First day Back

1ST Day of School: Tuesday, Sept. 5: Grade 6’s only in attendance

8:30 – Grade 6/7 Teachers: In the Gymnasium (with signs)

Support/Non-Enrolling Teachers: at entry points assisting students finding their names on advisory lists, directing students to the gymnasium.

8:50 – Grade 6 students in the gym.

Welcome to Phoenix and Middle School 

Introduction of Grade 6/7staff –Admin introduce- advisory teachers, expo teachers, CADY staff

Students go and stand with their advisory teacher in the gym and move as a group to classrooms.

Discuss student schedules (lunch/break times, exploration rotations)

Review School Wide Expectations

Students will get a tour of the school. 

Phoenix has a closed campus which means that our students are not to visit other schools unless accompanied by a Phoenix educator. It also means that students cannot leave Phoenix unless the office has spoken to a parent/guardian/caregiver.

11:30 am Dismissal. Busses will be arriving in the bus loop at 11:40 am 

2nd Day of School, Wednesday, Sept. 6: All students in attendance

8:50- Advisory Classrooms – class lists will be posted around the school so incoming students can find their Advisory teachers. 

BUSSING 

If your child needs and is eligible school bus transportation and you have not already applied for a bus pass for 2022-2023, parents/guardians must apply online as soon as possible.  Click here:   https://forms.office.com/r/tyTpxWA2kp.

School Supplies: If you can please send your student to school with the basics: pens, pencils, paper, a binder with dividers, and a basic calculator. Teachers may requests a few other items that will be communicated in the first week of school. If there is financial hardship please reach out to the office staff at Phoenix through email or call at 250-287-8346.
