A Night to Honour Years of Care and Commitment

The long service recognition evening is one of the most meaningful traditions in our district. Hosted each year by our human resources department, it brings together milestone employees and their guest for an evening of appreciation.

This year, we celebrated colleagues who have dedicated 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years to supporting students and our schools. That is an extraordinary amount of time spent helping young people learn, grow and feel supported. It is also an extraordinary amount of time supporting one another as colleagues.

Working in education can be demanding and much of what staff do is not always visible. It can be easy to wonder if anyone notices the small moments, the extra care, or the countless tasks that keep our district running smoothly. The celebration on November 18 was a reminder that we do notice and that our staff contributions make a difference every single day.

We recognized individuals who have helped shape the district for decades through change, growth, challenges and celebrations.

Thank you to all staff for the work you do, and congratulations to our long service honourees. Your commitment helps shape the welcoming, supportive learning environment we value so much in School District 72.
