Carihi PAC Fundraiser & Funding Request

FUNDING REQUEST FROM THE CARIHI PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL

 The Carihi PAC provides valuable financial support to make extracurricular sports, clubs and activities accessible to all of our students and to provide scholarships. 

 Due to a grant submission error, the Carihi PAC is not guaranteed the PAC Community Gaming Grant of approximately $17,000 this 2023-24 year. We have submitted a late application and do not expect a response until the end of December or as late as early March 2024. With this uncertainty and delay we are not able to support fall sports or extracurricular activities. 

The BC gaming grant has been our only source of income for several years. Our existing funds are allocated to previous scholarship recipients and there is no surplus for the current year. This means we are unable to pay the BC Athletics fees, support Carihi sports teams, fund travel to sporting events and other student competitions, provide funds to clubs like robotics, leadership, art and Indigenous mentorship, and give to extracurricular events in band, choir and musical theater. 

Make A Donation

We are asking for one-time donations to Carihi PAC. Please make cheques payable to Carihi Secondary School and indicate PAC Fundraiser on the memo line or you can e-transfer to carihi.accounting@sd72.bc.ca. For Donations over $100 a tax receipt will be issued by SD72. For a tax receipt please include name and mailing address. 

If our late gaming grant application is approved then donations will be used to further fund PAC’s support of extracurricular sports, clubs and activities.

 FUNDRAISERS

• Pizza Day: Proceeds from select large pizzas bought from Domino's on Friday, October 27 are donated to Carihi PAC. Call Domino's at 250-923-9228 for details. Scroll down for more details.
• Bottle Drive: Take your empties to Island Return It Depot and ask them to add it to the Carihi PAC account.

UPCOMING PAC MEETINGS

PAC meetings are held once per month on a Monday in the school library. Parents or guardians of Carihi students are welcome to attend.
