Cedar Weaving Workshop
Cedar Weaving Workshops – June 10–12
From Wednesday, June 10 to Friday, June 12, Cortes School is excited to welcome Brenda and Amy for a series of cedar weaving workshops with students.
Throughout these sessions, students will learn about the cultural significance and traditional uses of cedar while creating their own woven pieces. Activities will be adapted by age group:
- Older students will weave cedar headbands
- Intermediate students will create cedar bracelets
- Younger students will take part in a simple weaving experience and demonstrations
These hands-on workshops provide a meaningful opportunity for students to connect with traditional knowledge, creativity, and the importance of cedar in Coast cultures.
