Gradual Entry – 2026–2027 School Year

All Kindergarten and Grade 1 classes in School District 72 implement a gradual entry model to support a smooth and positive transition into full-day school.

Gradual entry allows children to become comfortable with new routines, classmates, and learning environments during the first weeks of school. This approach helps build confidence and sets a strong foundation for a successful year.

Please note:
Adapted schedules for kindergarten students beyond the second week of September may be discussed and arranged with your child’s teacher during Week 2.

We kindly ask families to delay kindergarten students from using the school bus until after the second week of school, as children adjust best with familiar, consistent routines during this time.

What Your Child Should Bring:

• A complete change of clothes to be kept at school (including socks and underwear)
• A pair of indoor shoes (slip-on or Velcro recommended)
• An extra raincoat and rubber boots (encouraged due to changing weather)

Please ensure all clothing and personal items are clearly labeled with your child’s name.
