Headless Feast & Halloween Costume Parade

On October 30, Cortes Island School will come together for our special Headless Feast and Halloween Costume Parade.

The day will begin with a school-wide costume parade at 9:00 a.m. in the gym, giving students a chance to show off their Halloween costumes before the holiday. Since students won't be at school on Halloween, we're excited to celebrate a day early and enjoy some festive fun together.

At 12:35 p.m., students, staff, and volunteers will gather for the Headless Feast, a Thanksgiving-inspired community meal celebrating gratitude, belonging, and connection. This year's menu includes roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, seasonal vegetables, mini pumpkin pies, and hot apple cider made from locally donated apples.

The meal is being prepared by PAC volunteers and supported by the Feeding Futures Program. We are grateful to everyone helping make this special community event possible.

We are still looking for parent volunteers to help decorate the gym and create a festive atmosphere for the event. Donations or loans of Halloween and fall-themed decorations are also welcome. If you are able to help, please contact the school office.

Why "Headless Feast"? Our principal will be away for the day, leaving the school temporarily "headless" - a detail the students find especially entertaining! We may not be able to promise complete chaos, but we can promise good food, great company, and plenty of Halloween spirit. 🍂🎃
