Work Experience
Are you currently working or volunteering?
Would you like to get high school credits for the employment skills you are gaining in the workplace?
The Work Experience Program (WEX) gives students in grade 11 or 12 the opportunity to earn course credits while gaining valuable real-world experience.
Whether you have a part-time job, summer employment, or volunteer your hours may count towards the program.
Work Experience differs from most courses in that it is primarily designed to take place outside of the school setting.
Students enrolled in a Work Experience (WEX) are required to:
- Attend all WEX workshops.
- Participate in an in-school safety orientation.
- Complete all assignments and the intended learning outcomes.
- Complete at least 100 hours of paid or volunteer work.
