Quadra Students Recognized in Provincial Holiday Card Contest

Two young artists from Quadra Elementary have been selected as winners in the First Peoples’ Cultural Council (FPCC) holiday card contest, a provincial celebration of creative talent from Indigenous children and youth across British Columbia.

Taylor Morison, age 6, from the Tahltan Nation, and Carter Hunt, age 8, from the Klahoose Nation, were chosen as top artists in their age categories. Their artwork will be featured on FPCC’s 2025 holiday cards, alongside the winning designs from the other age groups.

Each student receives 20 printed cards showcasing their artwork, along with a $150 gift card in recognition of their achievement.

The annual FPCC holiday card contest highlights the talent and creativity of young Indigenous artists. Submissions are grouped into four age categories, with one design selected from each. The final cards will be shared with First Nations communities across B.C., partners, colleagues and the broader FPCC network throughout the holiday season.

Quadra Elementary and SD72 is proud of Taylor and Carter and celebrates this meaningful recognition of their artistic gifts and cultural expression.
