Sandowne students collect more than 1,200 bags of pasta for Christmas hampers
Sandowne Elementary wrapped up its pasta drive for the Knights of Columbus Christmas Hamper program with a record-breaking total of 1,239 bags collected. The three-week schoolwide challenge ended Friday morning, December 5, with students adding their final donations before pickup.
Mrs. Paul’s grade 4/5 class topped the leaderboard with 323 bags and Mrs. Takach’s grade 3 class placed second with 232 bags. Both classes will enjoy a pasta lunch as the highest contributors.
Students also celebrated some impressive individual totals. Owen M. led the way with 226 bags collected. Maddison G. followed with 193 bags, and Ariya L. rounded out the top three with 125 bags.
The drive brought plenty of energy and fun to the school, but most importantly, it showed the generosity of the Sandowne community. All donations will help fill Christmas hampers for families supported by the Knights of Columbus this holiday season.
Students and staff are already looking forward to another friendly challenge next year.
