Literacy & Numeracy Resources for Kindergarten to Grade 3 Families

The Ministry of Education and Child Care has developed resources for families of kindergarten to Grade 3 students to help them better understand literacy and numeracy learning in school.

New Provincial Resource Helps Families Support Safe, Welcoming Schools

The Ministry of Education and Child Care has launched BC's Welcoming Schools, a new online resource that brings together information and tools to help students feel safe, connected and supported at school.

    Secondary students and families are invited to learn more about an exciting opportunity to travel to Japan in May 2027 with other students from across School District 72.

    The trip will include visits to Sapporo, Ishikari, Hiroshima and Miyajima Island, offering students the chance to experience Japanese culture, history and daily life.

    Families are encouraged to attend the information session on September 21 starting at 6 p.m. in the school board office conference room (425 Pinecrest Road, Campbell River) to learn about the itinerary, costs, travel arrangements and the educational benefits of participating in the trip.

    The Campbell River & District Chamber of Commerce, Campbell River Mirror and the Tidemark Theatre Society are co-hosting the trustee candidates debate for those running for a seat on the School District 72 Board of Education. Seating is on a first come first serve basis or you can watch the live stream on the Tidemark Theatre website

    The public are invited to send their questions to exdir@campbellriverchamber.ca

    Doors open at 6:30 p.m. - debates will run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
