Better Information, Better Support for Students

Helping every student succeed is at the heart of School District 72's Strategic Plan. To support that work, the district is introducing a new platform called eINSIGHTS that will help educators better understand student learning, identify needs earlier and make informed decisions that support student success. The district's strategic plan identifies student achievement as its central purpose and commits to using evidence-informed approaches to improve outcomes for all learners.

The platform brings together information such as student assessments, attendance data and learning supports into one secure location. By connecting information that has traditionally been stored in different places, teachers, principals and district staff will have a more complete picture of each student's learning journey and be able to monitor progress over time.

This work supports several goals in the district's Strategic Plan, including improving literacy and numeracy achievement, supporting student well-being, strengthening transitions between learning environments and ensuring all students receive the support they need to reach their full potential. The plan calls for grade-level proficiency in literacy and numeracy, student-centred learning environments, and equitable outcomes for all students.

With better access to information, educators can more easily identify learning strengths, recognize challenges and evaluate whether supports and interventions are making a difference. The system also allows staff to look at trends over time, helping schools and the district understand what is working well and where additional support may be needed.

The district's strategic plan emphasizes creating learning environments where students feel welcomed, safe, connected and experience a strong sense of belonging. By giving school teams access to a clearer picture of each student's learning and support needs, eINSIGHTS will help educators work together more effectively to support both academic success and student well-being.

The platform will also strengthen transitions between grades and schools. Historical information can be accessed by future teachers and support staff, helping them better understand a student's strengths, learning needs and successful strategies from previous years. This continuity can help ensure students receive consistent support as they move through the K-12 system.

Equity is a foundation of the district's Strategic Plan. The plan defines equity as meeting every student with what they need to develop to their full academic and social potential while removing barriers and adapting to individual needs and circumstances. eINSIGHTS will help staff better understand student experiences and outcomes, allowing the district to make decisions based on evidence and ensure supports are reaching the students who need them most.

While families will not use the platform directly, they will benefit from the insights it provides. By helping educators track progress, evaluate supports, strengthen transitions and identify opportunities for improvement, eINSIGHTS will support the district's commitment to student achievement, well-being and success for every learner.
