Community Notice: Fraudulent Carihi Fundraiser

General News, District News
Community Notice: Oct 2026 Fraudulent Carihi Fundraiser

It has come to our attention that individuals have been canvassing the community and soliciting donations on behalf of Carihi Secondary, claiming funds are being collected to support school repairs following the 2024 fire.

While the community's support for Carihi Secondary and its recovery has been greatly appreciated, this fundraising activity is not authorized by the school or School District 72. The district is not conducting any public fundraising campaign for fire-related repairs, and no individuals have been authorized to collect donations on the school's behalf.

The school and School District 72 have not authorized any individuals to collect donations door-to-door or directly from members of the public on the school's behalf.

If you are approached to support a fundraiser connected to a School District 72 school, we encourage you to ask for information from the school and, when in doubt, contact the school office directly to verify that the fundraising activity is legitimate and approved.
