New Provincial Resource Helps Families Support Safe, Welcoming Schools
The Ministry of Education and Child Care has launched BC's Welcoming Schools, a new online resource that brings together information and tools to help students feel safe, connected and supported at school. The new website provides students, families and educators with access to trusted information on school safety, well-being, inclusion and learning.
For families, the resource offers practical information about what children are learning in school, how to support positive digital habits, and ways to help keep children safe online. Parents and caregivers can also find information about mental health supports, student reporting, school expectations and who to contact when they have concerns.
Students can access resources through erase, including tools to report concerning incidents, information about mental health and wellness, and guidance on topics such as bullying, online safety and healthy relationships.
The Campbell River School District is committed to creating schools where every student feels a sense of belonging and can focus on learning. BC's Welcoming Schools site complements the work happening in our schools every day to support student well-being, safety and success.
Families are encouraged to explore the new resource and bookmark it for future reference.
