In response to recent events, the Ministry of Children and Family Development’s Child & Youth Mental Health team has organized a free online webinar for parents, caregivers and community members to provide them with tools and information to help children and youth after frightening events. The webinar is on Friday, May 23 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. PST. Please see the attached flyer for session highlights and details on how to register. 

Registration for our very popular Summer School courses opens on May 26 at 9:00 a.m. Parents or caregivers for SD72 students in kindergarten to grade 12 need to create an account before you will be able to register even if your child attended Summer School last year.

Families with children from birth to five years old are invited to attend a Ready, Set, Learn community event. Come join us for a morning of fun on May 27 from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m. in the StrongStart room at Sayward Elementary. The event is hosted by Campbell River School District, Campbell River Area Family Network, and PacificCARE Family Enrichment Society Child Care Resource and Referral.

Everyone is welcome to attend either in-person or through the online live stream link that will be added here the Friday before the meeting. A recording of this meeting will be posted, usually within 24 hours from the meeting, on the district’s YouTube channel.
