The Chinook Eggs are here!

 Exciting News!

We are thrilled to announce that Chinook salmon eggs have arrived at our school through the Stream to Sea Program, a joint initiative between Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), the Salmon River Hatchery, and Sayward Elementary.

Our students will have the unique opportunity to monitor the eggs as they develop through their various life stages, learning firsthand about the salmon life cycle and the importance of healthy ecosystems.

In the spring, these salmon will be released into Newcastle Creek, contributing to local conservation efforts and giving students a meaningful connection to their environment.
