Introducing Our New School Liaison Officer

We are pleased to share that Constable Maury Tyre has become our new school liaison officer. Many might recognize Constable Tyre as he is also the media liaison officer for the Campbell River RCMP.

One of the most important parts of a school liaison officer's job is just being there for the kids and the adults to answer questions and address concerns. But as the school liaison officer, Constable Tyre also helps with traffic safety complaints around our schools, teaching students about pedestrian, bicycle and internet safety, and providing anti-bullying or drug abuse resistance education, amongst other safety and wellbeing topics. 

"I very much look forward to meeting as many of you as I can in the months that remain in the school year," says Constable Tyre. "So, if you see a police car in your child's school parking lot it likely means nothing is wrong, I may just be reading to a kindergarten class."
