Provide Your Feedback: Next 3 Year Calendars

The Board of Education is seeking feedback on the proposed school calendars for the next three school years: 2023-2024, 2024-2025 and 2025-2026. 

The 2023-2024 calendar is similar to previous years. Starting in 2024-2025 the calendar has three full and four half pro-d days, totaling the same number of contractually required pro-d hours.  Having four half pro-d days throughout the year allows teachers to have more regular connection and professional learning.
 
The calendars must meet instructional hours and days set by the Ministry of Education and Child Care. The draft calendars were developed by representatives from the district teacher's union, support staff union, principals and vice-principals association, pro-d committee, district parent advisory council, student leadership, a trustee representative and district management.

We ask that feedback be focused on family and community impacts. Feedback can be sent by email to calendar@sd72.bc.ca until March 10. The board will be setting the final calendars at the March 21 public board meeting.
