Runners Hit the Track for First Cross Country Meet of the Season

The first cross country meet of the season brought together runners from across the Campbell River School District on October 7 at Southgate Middle School.

Students in grades 3 to 8 from several district schools, along with participants from Campbell River Christian School and École Mer et Montagne, took part in the event. The course challenged runners with grassy fields and gentle hills.

Throughout the afternoon, there were plenty of cheers from classmates, parents, and teachers encouraging runners as they crossed the finish line. The excitement and energy were high, with students supporting one another and showing great sportsmanship from start to finish.

The meet gave students the opportunity to challenge themselves, build confidence, and connect with peers from across the district in a fun, active way ahead of the annual district cross country meet at the end of the month on October 28.

Congratulations to all participants for representing their schools with pride and enthusiasm, and a big thank you to Southgate Middle School for hosting another successful event!
