Ripple Rock Elementary Unveils New Library Mural

Ripple Rock Elementary unveiled a beautiful new library mural on May 26 from local Indigenous artist, Jessica Chickite of the We Wai Kai Nation. The design features a raven holding a book in its talons and a stack of books with the titles of Indigenous authored books and the statement, "Every Child Matters."

Elder and cultural mentor Will Henderson of the Wei Wai Kum Nation and Shawn Decaire of the We Wai Kai Nation drummed several traditional songs for students, staff and guests at the request of the artist and the ceremony opened with a blessing from Elder June Johnson.
