November Pro-D and Mentorship Events

November 16 - Online BCTF  New Teacher Zoom Gathering  3:30-4:30pm  -  This gathering is open to all BCTF members with five years or fewer of teaching experience, and teacher candidates are also invited to attend. It will be an open discussion focused on building understanding and improving practices for inclusive classroom environments, along with breakout rooms on hot topics in English and French (une salle de discussion). November 17 - Online Mentorship Meet Up & info session - for any interested teachers; and those already registered for mentorship- link attached here and in the calendear on the learninghub. 

November 20th - Registration for the District Pro-D Day workshops opens on CIMS -- "Learning How through learning about and from local Knowledge Keepers".   We are looking for cohosts to aid our Knowledge Keepers in their workshop sessions.  Please contact prod@sd72.bc.ca if you are interested in being a cohost. - Open to all educators. 
LAST CALL for workshop proposals with the theme of reconciliation, Indigenous ways of knowing, learning and being, and decolonizing our classrooms and pracitces.   If you are a teacher interested in hosting a workshop on please complete the proposal form ASAP - before November 20th.  

November 21 ONLINE  Book Creator workshop - contact Cathy Fowler if you would like to learn more about how you can receive a Book Creator Licence for this school year. A great inclusive tool that can be used K-12 to adapt, extend and enhance learning in all subject areas. 

November 22 - Grade Group Get Together - SBO conference room - snacks and time to talk teaching.   Meet with colleagues from similar grades to discuss topics imporant to you right now.  ( perhaps report cards).    No Prep Necessary.
