Summer School 2026 Overview and Dates
Campbell River School District offers a variety of classes to help students upgrade their marks and further develop their academic and cultural interests over the summer. Any SD72 student in kindergarten to grade 12 can take ONE Summer School course for free. International and out-of-province students who do not meet the BC government’s funding criteria will be required to pay tuition for their Summer School course. Students cannot register for more than one course.
Summer School 2026 will run from July 6 to July 31.
- Session 1 will run from July 6 to July 17 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
- Session 2 will run from July 20 to 31 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
- High School sessions will run from July 6 to July 31 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted in the course description)
Summer School courses are filled on a first come, first served basis. After you submit your registration, your child is registered for the program you selected. You will receive an email before the session starts confirming registration; however you can log into the registration system at any time to see which course your child is registered in under “Scheduled Appointments”.
The maximum number of students per course is 24. All courses must have a minimum of 17 students for the course to run.
Please note: Programs are subject to change or cancellation.
Questions or concerns can be emailed to summer.school@sd72.bc.ca
How to Register for Summer School Courses
Parents or caregivers for students in kindergarten to grade 12 must create an account BEFORE you will be able to register. Summer School registration accounts do not carry forward from year to year; you will need to create a new Summer School registration account each year.
Priority will be given to SD72 students. However, if space is available, students not currently enrolled in a SD72 school can email their top 3 choices, their child’s name, PEN (9 digit personal education number) and current grade level to summer.school@sd72.bc.ca.
Create a Summer School Registration Account & Add Your Child(ren): BEFORE MAY 29
Go to https://sd72summerschool.schoolappointments.com/ and click on “Register”. Note: you will still need to create an account even if your school uses School Appointments On-Line for student-led conferences/parent teacher interviews.

You will need your child(ren)’s PEN (9 digit personal education number), which can be found on their last report card, under ‘Student Details’ in the SD72 parent portal/app, or by emailing summer.school@sd72.bc.ca.
Watch the video below for a walk through on how to create your account and add your child(ren):
